On This Farm...

This farm is very special to me and my whole family.

The people who own most of the farm are like my grandparents.

My family even lived there for about 6 months.

On this farm there are cows.

On this farm there are 75 acres.

On this farm many pictures have been taken! :)

On this farm there are lots of flowers! 

On this farm there are 5 houses.

On this farm there is a real tree house thats been home to a family for about 12 years!

Family {A Poem}

Hello everyone! How is your sunday going? I hope its going well. So I was reading this blog and they had a link to this website and a contest that they are doing. Here is what their website says about the contest...

"Writing Contest for Young writers of Adoptive Families

Open to all youth (ages 1 to age 21) from adoptive families.

Cash Awards for winners in each age division:

1st place =$500

2nd place=$300

3rd place= $150

4th place=$50

Four Divisions:

10 and under

ages 11-13

ages 14-18

ages 19-21

Choose one of these three questions and answer in your own original work. All entries must be less than 500 words.

• The term “family “ is often defined differently. What does family mean to you?
• Families enjoy each other’s company in many unique ways. What is your favorite way to spend time with your family?
• Your family wouldn’t be the same without you. Explain your role in your own family.

Young writers may submit prose or poetry. One entry per person. Writers must be adopted or have adopted siblings in their immediate family.

The essays will be placed in the appropriate division based on the age of the writer at submission

All entires must be received via email by midnight June1st, 2012."

It sounded cool so i wrote this little poem. Hope you like it! 

Family

{A Poem} 

Family.

Family is when love flows

and everybody knows

'cause your love for each other shows

It doesn't matter where your from

or what color you are 

Family is when love flows

It may be hard

but it can be fun

so just push on

until this day is done

You may be from Mexico, Russia or Ghana 

or even from the city of Hosaena

Some may gawk and some may stare

but they shouldn't care

You may be black or you may be white

Track is underway, well its actually almost done :( But we aren't going to talk about that right now. Anyways so track is underway and im having soo much fun! Track is sooo great!!! Freedom

Freedom 

Freedom: The condition or state of being free: political independence. Thats the dictionaries definition of the word freedom But is that all there is to it? Servitude, bondage, slavery thats what freedom is NOT, but what is freedom? Freedom is independence, privilege, liberty. Here in the US we have lots of freedom, freedom of the press, freedom of speech, freedom of religion and many more. Freedom is not being in slavery, its being able to believe what you want, say what you want and just do what you want, in reason of course, you cant just go kill people of something like that, but anyway. As the constitution says we have the right to "life, LIBERTY (freedom) and the pursuit of happiness"

I wrote this for my writing book the other day and thought i would share it. I have been reading in history about the cival war. Did you know that Abraham Lincoln died April 15, 1865? Thats 147 years and 5 days ago. What do you think about freedom?
